Background Situation

American and Canadian customers of Belimo’s existing eCommerce offering faced a problem. The shop system based on the SAP IPC Variant Configurator couldn’t sufficiently map the complex configuration options and pricing regulations of the Belimo product catalog. The resulting response times, which could take as long as over three minutes, made Belimo’s eCommerce offering unappealing for clients in the U.S. and Canada. As a result, Belimo’s B2B eCommerce channel was largely unable to tap its potential.

Vision

The previously heterogeneous marketing and eCommerce application landscape had to be merged into a global, consolidated online presence. Belimo aimed to pursue this initiative and underscore its position as a provider of innovative, high-quality products through a clear, consistent global brand message. As such, Belimo would provide its customers with an integrated, state-of-the-art digital customer journey for use on desktops as well as mobile devices. This global solution would also address existing performance problems during product configuration.

Solution

The globally aligned Arvato Systems team made this possible by successfully rolling out an integrated platform based on Magnolia CMS 5.5, SAP Hybris B2B Accelerator 6.2 (now SAP CX Commerce Cloud), and the latest version of SAP CPQ 2.0 (Configure, Price, Quote). A further key task consisted of implementing the new design, which was created under the overall project leadership of Arvato Systems. Furthermore, since the launch of Asia Pacific Arvato Systems launched a download center, which makes over 20000 documents in a bunch of languages available for the customer.
