Future-Proof IT Infrastructure: kubus It Relies on Outsourcing and Innovation

- But what does this mean for the future of digital healthcare?

Optimizing IT Infrastructure: Successful Cloud Migration and Automation

As part of this project, Arvato Systems aimed to optimize the IT infrastructure of kubus IT by comprehensively migrating it to the modern data centers of Arvato Systems. This migration enables improved performance, security, and scalability that meet the growing requirements of kubus IT. A central project component is the automation of the end-to-end deployment processes. Implementing automated processes significantly increases efficiency, resulting in faster deployment of applications and services. This also minimizes the susceptibility to errors and improves the overall quality of IT services. To further simplify the management and use of cloud resources, a uniform cloud management platform has been set up, and an innovative self-service portal for IT services has also been provided.

By combining these elements - migration, automation, a central management platform, and a self-service portal - Arvato Systems offers a comprehensive solution that increases efficiency and promotes the agility and innovative strength of kubus IT. With this Cloud transformation, kubus IT is positioning itself for the future in the digital age.

Efficient IT Transformation

The project's scope was to seamlessly migrate the systems and data to Arvato Systems' modern data centers without disrupting the business. We automated the end-to-end deployment processes to increase efficiency and reliability. We also developed a centralized cloud management platform that enables seamless orchestration of all workflows, from firewalling to lifecycle management. A user-friendly self-service portal allows IT services to be requested quickly, while Arvato Systems offers a standardized cloud offering across all hyperscalers. We also guarantee self-service for cloud services in compliance with defined standards and invest in building up the teams' knowledge, also on the customer side.

Project Overview

Initial situation

kubus IT was faced with the challenge of outsourcing its in-house data centers and the associated IT infrastructure and operating processes to an external service provider. The aim was to future-proof the IT and meet the increasing demands for flexibility and efficiency. The decision to modernize and optimize the infrastructure was not only intended to simplify operating processes, but also to promote innovation and ensure that all IT services can be provided reliably and securely at all times.

Vision

The vision of kubus IT was to create a future-proof, modern, and efficient IT infrastructure that not only meets current requirements, but can also react flexibly to future challenges. By empowering the business experts to manage the IT infrastructure for their specialist applications, a high degree of automation was to be achieved, and uniform standards were established to increase the quality and reliability of IT services.

Solution

The solution comprised both the comprehensive migration of the existing systems and the subsequent operational management of Kubus IT's basic infrastructure. This included the provision of data centers, hardware services, and network, basic, and directory services for around 17,500 IT users. Arvato Systems ensured that the entire IT infrastructure was operated efficiently and reliably, while implementing innovative technologies and processes to promote the automation and standardization of IT services. This holistic approach enables kubus IT to make optimal use of its resources and continuously improve the quality of its IT services.

Cloud Made to Measure

Discover the four paths to optimal IT solutions

  • With this model, you receive IT services that are provided in Arvato Systems' own data center. This data center is reserved exclusively for you, which means that the infrastructure is physically separated from other customers. This offers maximum security and control over the data.

  • In this model, you also use an Arvato Systems data center, but several customers share the infrastructure. The resources are only logically separated from each other, which means that the data is secure but the physical hardware is used by multiple clients. This can be more cost-efficient, but offers slightly less control.

  • This provides you with IT services that are provided in cloud environments located within the European Economic Area (EEA). This model ensures that the data complies with EU data protection regulations, which is very important for many companies.

  • Public Cloud World

In this model, we offer you IT services that are provided in global cloud environments. This means that the data and applications are distributed across different data centers worldwide. This model can offer more flexibility and scalability, but may not always be the best choice when it comes to strict data protection requirements.
