Strong Partners for Smart Health: The Future of Medicine Is Hybrid

Together with St. Joseph Stift Dresden and the state capital of Dresden, Arvato Systems has implemented a pioneering model for hybrid medical care. In the Te-MeS - TeleMedSpace* project, video consultations, secure communication and a TI connection were integrated to relieve the burden on medical staff and provide patients with better access to care.

*This measure is co-financed with tax revenue on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon State Parliament.

Project Overview

Initial situation

Hospitals are faced with the challenge of caring for increasing numbers of patients with a high workload for specialist staff. Manual processes and media disruptions reduce efficiency in everyday hospital life. St. Joseph-Stift Dresden was therefore looking for hybrid care models to improve the quality of processes and care for patients from any location. Together with the state capital of Dresden and Arvato Systems as a technology partner, the TeMeS project was created to relieve the burden on specialist staff and gain more time for patients through digital networking.

Vision

The aim of the TeMeS project was to establish a hybrid form of care that combines digital and personal treatment in a meaningful way. Telemedicine services should relieve the burden on medical professionals, simplify processes and provide patients with secure, location-independent access to care. At the same time, a solution should be created that fits seamlessly into existing hospital structures and can be transferred to other facilities in the future.

Solution

With TeMeS, Arvato Systems has developed an integrated telemedicine solution that combines video consultations, secure communication and a TI connection. The platform fits seamlessly into the existing hospital system landscape and enables data protection-compliant collaboration between all parties involved. The modular, open approach ensures that the solution can be flexibly expanded and serves as a resilient proof of concept for further use cases.

Thanks to TeMeS, we can offer our specialized range of services far beyond the city limits. Patients are very grateful for the uncomplicated information without having to travel long distances.

Due to black ice, four on-site maternity consultations had to be canceled. I'm new to the company, but after five minutes of training in TeMeS, I was able to use the program straight away. We then conducted the consultations via video consultation. The mothers were very grateful that we were able to hold the consultations despite the difficult external conditions.
