Increasing Process Efficiency through Full-Stage Digitization

The logistics system previously used by HTH Logistic Solutions no longer met all the requirements of modern logistics processes. Goods receipt, storage, replenishment, picking, and loading were largely paper-based. This resulted in long lead times and many manual data entries in the individual work steps. There was a lack of visibility into order status and inventory, which was not real-time. 

Consequently, a high-quality effort had to be made to keep the error rate low. There were high sorting efforts of the picking orders and partly empty runs due to missing stock and order sequences that were not route-optimized. The interfaces were based on outdated technologies, harbored potential for errors, and required a high manual effort.

HTH Logistic Solutions wanted to invest in new logistics locations and greatly expand its warehouse capacities. In the course of this, the company aimed to modernize its logistics structures and software. An end-to-end IT solution was to make processes transparent and enable steady growth. Work processes were to be digital and intuitive.

Together with HTH Logistic Solutions, we developed a target concept for processes that are as paperless and efficient as possible. The basis for the Digital Transformation was to be the warehouse management module of our logistics platform platbricks®.

The following processes are now handled digitally: Goods Receiving , Putaway (route-optimized with double play), Retrieval (route-optimized with double play), Picking (Single and Multi Order), Packing, Loading and Returns.

The implementation time from the first workshop to go live was only four months and was largely accompanied by us remotely and virtually due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
