platbricks® Smart Field Service in Use at ADAC

For maximum transparency in the decentralized warehouses of the yellow angels

Control of Replenishment Processes in Decentralized Supply Warehouses and Efficient Storage Processes for Road Patrols

ADAC_e.V._25_4c

The ADAC, Europe's largest mobility club, provides rapid assistance in the event of breakdowns and vehicle problems daily with its road rescue service. Spare parts are managed in the supply depots and directly in the road patrol vehicles to ensure the operational readiness of the road patrol drivers.

Previously, warehouse operations were mainly controlled manually. Essential processes such as recording stock levels, replenishment requests, and stock movements were carried out using pen and paper, which led to inefficient processes and increased potential for errors. The lack of digital inventory management meant a lack of transparency and accuracy, making it difficult to identify bottlenecks or excess stock. In addition, automated replenishment optimization and efficient inventory management were not possible, leading to supply delays.

With the introduction of platbricks®, ADAC has digitalized and automated its warehouse management, significantly improving efficiency, transparency, and control of the entire supply chain.

Customer Benefits

Optimized inventory situation in the vehicles and supply warehouses
Elimination of paper-based documentation
Reduction of data entry errors
Implementation of electronic control processes (e.g. dual control principle)
Transparency regarding consumption and sales in real time

Project Overview

Initial situation

ADAC's warehouse operations - both in the 1,650 road patrol vehicles and in the 300 supply warehouses - were previously paper-based. This led to a lack of transparency and accuracy in stock levels, which made replenishment optimization and efficient inventory management almost impossible. In addition, the decentralized storage areas were inadequately integrated, resulting in loss of goods and high costs over long periods of time. Without digital processes, inventory management was time-consuming and error-prone for everyone involved.

Vision

ADAC therefore set itself the goal of taking its logistics processes to a new level - with a digital and efficient system that enables full transparency and control over stocks. The aim was to optimally manage stock levels, automate replenishment processes and at the same time support the needs of all parties involved - from road patrol drivers to central logistics - in the best possible way. With modern, future-proof solutions, ADAC wanted to create the basis for lean, error-free and cost-efficient logistics.

Solution

With platbricks®, ADAC's warehouse management was cloud-based and automated. The switch to a cloud-enabled merchandise management & POS system, the SAP connection and the adaptation of the platbricks® app and the control station enable real-time inventory management.

The introduction of mobile applications for road patrol drivers and warehouse staff replaces paper-based processes, reducing errors and automating replenishment. Digital control processes replace paper-based procedures, reduce data entry errors and prevent tampering. The future-oriented solution creates maximum transparency, optimizes stock levels and ensures that road patrol vehicles are supplied efficiently.

Our Services

VX-26482

The platbricks® solution developed for ADAC enables fully digital inventory management for road patrol vehicles and supply depots. Using a mobile application, the road patrol drivers record their material movements directly on site, while automated stock reconciliation with SAP ensures precise and transparent warehouse management. At the same time, a digitally controlled replenishment process enables vehicles to be supplied efficiently, thereby avoiding bottlenecks.

A special feature of the solution is the dual control principle for material removal, which ensures increased process reliability. In addition, role-based user administration has been implemented, which enables quick and easy administration of over 2,000 users. Thanks to its seamless integration into existing systems, platbricks® ensures that all stock movements are recorded and processed in real time.

About the ADAC

For decades, the ADAC has been Europe's leading mobility service provider, with over 21 million members. Its road rescue drivers provide rapid assistance in the event of a breakdown. The ADAC stands for safety, support, and innovation in road traffic. In addition to the well-known breakdown assistance, it offers numerous services such as travel and insurance services, driver safety training, and consumer advice.
