Josera Sets New Standards in Digitalized Logistics Processes with SAP and platbricks®
As part of the ERBACHER the food family, Josera is also for future-proof nutrition and sustainable solutions, from high-quality pet food to innovative agricultural products. With over 80 years of experience and production sites in Germany and Poland, among other places, the family-owned company is one of the leading specialists for premium feed for livestock and pets.
As part of the digital transformation, Josera has worked with us to introduce SAP EWM and SAP TM, which have been successfully implemented. At the same time, we worked closely together to develop the new platbricks® Yard Management module in our cloud logistics platform, platbricks®, which is fully integrated into the SAP system landscape.
This is particularly impressive due to the following highlights:
External time slot booking with direct integration of suppliers and customers via a specially developed login function
Digitalized check-in and automated weighing via modern terminals
Central Yard Overview with intelligent truck control - including notification by SMS
With this solution, Josera creates more transparency, efficiency, and controllability on the company premises - and thus sets new standards for a modern, networked logistics.
Customer Benefits
With the Yard Management System, we achieve complete transparency of all truck movements within the plant boundaries with the best possible planning capability through time slot bookings. Our collaboration with Arvato Systems was characterized by confidence in their ability to integrate our business requirements into the technical implementation in platbricks®. Together we have created a product that we will now continue to roll out in other plants.
Project Process
The project was implemented using a hybrid methodology: While the project followed classic waterfall phases such as conception, implementation, testing, and go-live, the software development was organized in an agile way, with user stories, sprints, and iterative coordination. The project was successfully completed in just twelve months, with the go-live in January 2025 as the key milestone.
One particular success factor was the close collaboration between our different teams: combining a local team for requirements gathering and an offshore team for implementation enabled flexible, time-efficient development. Thanks to our in-depth SAP expertise, particularly in interfaces and data modeling, we were able to impressively demonstrate our role as a specialist for integrated logistics solutions.
